Toilets…yes they matter by Laura Jordan

Walking through a soon to be remodeled 1970s era home I entered the laundry room to discover this pale blue toilet. I laughed, as I wasn’t sure which was worse the toilet or the blue linoleum. I could probably work with the linoleum but the toilet…probably not.

The funniest part was that this was the second remodel this year where I had encountered a toilet that was anything but white. In the other remodel we went for a high contrast black and white powder room. After it was complete, and a bright white toilet was placed in front of some fantastic black Kelly Wersler tile and next to a black faucet serving a dark gray concrete sink, my client and I looked at each other and laughed…maybe we should have salvaged the black toilet from the upstairs bath which had been removed and sent away just a few days prior. Maybe next time.

Maybe we should have reused the black toilet in this bathroom.
